GenWHY

Date night, girls/boys night out, extra time after errands, all are examples of times when people decide to go see a movie, but did you know that some of your favorite movies were actually filmed after being inspired by novels?
While movies are great, I love a good date night movie, it seems the inspiration behind many of our favorite films has been pushed to the background and we forget that a writer spent days, months, or years creating the story that enraptures our minds.
Here are 15 books made into movies that can be found in our local New Boston Public Library:
- Nicholas Sparks novels; The Notebook, Dear John, The Last Song
- The Devil Wears Prada - Lauren Weisberger
- The Hunt for Red October - Tom Clancy
- Twilight Series - Stephenie Meyer
- Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
- Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton
- The Hunger Games Series - Suzanne Collins
- The Giver - Lois Lowry
- The Maze Runner - James Dashner
- Life of Pi - Yann Martel
- The Fault in Our Stars - John Green
- Bridget Jones Diary - Helen Fielding
- Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
- American Sniper - Chris Kyle
- The Divergent Series - Veronica Roth
These along with several other books turned to movies, as well as the actual movies, are available for guests of all ages to enjoy. To find your favorite novel, or a start a new one, just head over to the New Boston Public Library at 127 N. Ellis St. in New Boston, Texas.
