Family fun, birthday parties, magic shows, and school field trips are just a few of the activities covered at The Party Express Park and Miniature Golf in Hooks.
The Party Express, open for five years, is the invention of nationally acclaimed magician and speaker Darryl Miller. Miller, who has been infatuated with magic since a very early age, performed his first ever show at eight years old and now performs over 275 shows a year covering 11 states.
A single father, Miller spent some time away from magic in order to support his family, but when the opportunity arose to make his entertaining full time again, he didn’t hesitate and has since performed shows for hundreds of thousands of spectators throughout the years.
Planning and producing programs for many different agencies, Miller has performed educational shows for several schools in our area and all over the country, as well as working close with others to carry out fundraisers for different causes.
Fortunate enough to have one of the biggest names in magic, J.B. Bobo, become his mentor Miller attributes several of his successes to his experience with Bobo. “He was an incredible man and he taught me a lot.”
Using the experience he has had over his extensive career, Miller creates shows with comedy, magic, and illusion that will excite spectators of all ages.
Starting on June 11, 2016, the Party Express will begin hosting a family fun night with activities for all ages to enjoy. Giving families an affordable place to go as a family and meet others in the community, there will be miniature golf, bounce houses, inflatable slides, train rides, Elsa will in person interacting with guests, balloon animals for the kids, and so much more.
Miller believes the whole point of the hard work put into events such as this is to allow, “Families to have a place to go and have fun without having to spend all their time waiting in line. It gives the families a chance to meet other people in a  safe environment."
A High Definition video system will be in place with a 200 sq. foot movie screen in which a movie will be played at approximately 8:30 p.m. While there is no title selected yet, Miller assures it will be a fun family film. Families will also be able to enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, drinks, and possibly pizza.
Reservations are now being taken for the night due to the overwhelming community response. Parking is limited to the venue and to ensure a personal, not overcrowded, aspect to the experience, admittance may be cut off once a certain number of guests is reached.
Family passes and individual tickets are available at affordable prices, giving families a fun place to enjoy each other without breaking the bank. A family pass for two adults and two children is $32.00, a family of five can get in for $39.00, and for a family of 6 the price for admittance is only $45.00. Individual tickets prices are, adults for $9.00 and kids 12 and under for $7.00.
Tickets and passes allow access to everything at the venue for the night, but concessions are not included in that ticket price. Call or message Daryl Miller at 903-824-5826 for questions or reservations.
Plans are to continue hosting Family Fun Nights throughout the summer and into the fall season. Expansions and new additions are also in the works for the venue to allow for more family fun activities. The Party Express Park and Miniature Golf is located in Hooks at 978, Co Rd 2201.
