Allyson Pebsworth was honored September 19, 2016 by the district leaders for her outstanding support of the students at DeKalb Independent School.
“We are grateful for the generosity of Allyson Pebsworth and her commitment to help make a real difference for our kids and this community,” said Dr. John Booth, District Superintendent. This year Allyson went over and beyond reporting the news for our school and community.
“Our students, parents, and teachers directly benefit from individuals like Allyson who are willing to stand up for public schools, not just in words but in their actions. We applaud Allyson for her participation and hope that this will continue to be a strong relationship in the years to come,” stated Dr. John Booth.
Since joining the staff of the Bowie County Citizens Tribune, Pebsworth has focused her work on local businesses and the activities of the school districts in the area.
Her work has included business spotlights, personal features and photographing area football games and other sporting events important to the school districts in the Tribune coverage area.
Tribune publisher Kenny Mitchell states, “Allyson is a hard worker and has really dedicated herself to bettering the goals of our paper, one of those being a focus on our area schools and the students in them. This recognition by the DeKalb ISD comes at the end of many hours of hard work on her part, and I am proud of her not only as her publisher, but as her father.”
