The Avery Lady Bulldogs improved their season mark to 4-6 with a huge 17-2 win over North Hopkins Tuesday night in Avery.

The run scoring onslaught was powered by a 4-4 performance from the bat of Alexis Coughran, which included a triple and a pair of runs batted in.

Coughran was not alone with a rock solid outing at the plate as Quinn Lipe and Meagan Roberts also knocked in a pair of runs each, as did Jill Whitney, who was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI’s.

Brenna Brown had a bases clearing double that brought three around to score as well for the Lady Bulldogs.

On the hill, a trio of pitchers got the job done, with Whitney getting the start and earning the win as she struck out four and allowed one hit and one run in two innings of work.

Roberts came in relief of Whitney and allowed just one run and struck out two in an inning plus of work and Brown closed out the game striking out two.

The Lady Bulldogs will be at home on Friday to face Paris Chisum with the first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
