First Baptist Church, DeKalb has started a new missions program called Caring for Cubs.

Making people feel good is a way of life for Deanna Harrison

By Kenny Mitchell

There is a long list of things that might come along in a person’s life to change their direction. I dare say, few have ever altered the course of their life because a barrel horse came up with a limp.
Yet, that is exactly what happened to DeKalb High School graduate Deanna Harrison.

The dyed in the wool country gal stays busy with acupressure and Meridian therapy, and uses a technique known as The Balancing Method, and it was in 2005 when a limping barrel horse started her down the road of Chinese medicine. I started studying Chinese Medicine in 2005 when I a barrel horse that was limping.  They told me at Texas A&M that there was nothing they could do for him so I came home searching for some way to help him feel better.  Chinese Medicine did help me manage his pain, and I retired him last year at the age of 23, he was still running!   I have studied Traditional Chinese Medicine ever since.  It is ongoing education.
