New Boston I.S.D. is proud to introduce the new Principal of New Boston High School, Dr. Don Mathis, ED.D. "I am humbled and most appreciative of the opportunity presented to me to become a member of this educational family", remarked Dr. Mathis. Dr. Mathis grew up in California and later moved to Kentucky. He later moved to Texas and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) on a four year Army ROTC Scholarship. Four years later, he graduated with a BA in History and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Army. He served five years on active duty three years at Fort Bliss, Texas and two years in Regensburg, West Germany. After the Army, he returned to UTA, earned another BA, this time in Political Science and became a certified secondary English, history, and government teacher at Sunset High School, in Dallas.
