The Redwater Lady Dragons solidified their spot in the softball postseason playoffs this week with back to back wins over #3 state ranked Hooks and then the Lady Brahmas of Paul Pewitt.
In last night’s 8-0 shutout win over the Lady Brahmas, Redwater sophomore hurler Bethanee Calicott struckout ten to pass a huge milestone for the year.
With her strikeouts last night, Calicott surpassed the 200 strikeout mark for the season, a huge milestone for any pitcher in Texas high school softball.
The district standings now have Hughes Springs in the top spot, Hooks in second, the Lady Dragons in third and Queen City and New Boston battling out for the fourth spot.
Hooks is scheduled to be on the road at DeKalb today and end their season on Tuesday with a home game against Hughes Springs.
