Deandre Dedmon paced the Lions with 12 points in the game while the Tigers’ Tyler Cooper led all scoring with 32 points in the contest.

NB Head Coach Michael Hill said, “The kids didn’t quit, that is a positive for us. The Simms ISD has a new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach this morning as the district has made the decision to elevate their program with the hiring of longtime Northeast Texas area coach Buddy Ray.

Coach Ray has had a storied career in this area leading several football programs to winning seasons, including DeKalb and over the last four years in his current role as the Defensive Coordinator for the New Boston Lions.

Simms ISD Superintendent Rex Burks told the Tribune this morning, “I have known Buddy Ray for a long time and he is a class act. He works well with the kids and will be a huge asset to our program and our school.”
