Pirates Cody Roberson Named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week

Vyve Broadband Salutes James Bowie Running Back For Outstanding Play

Shawnee, OK (October 12, 2016) James Bowie senior running back Cody Roberson was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Pirates 20-12 district win over Wolfe City Friday night.

Roberson rushed for 150 yards on 28 carries including touchdown runs of three, and 35 yards. Defensively he had 14 tackles to anchor a Pirate defensive unit that allowed just one Wolves touchdown on the night.

The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.

For week six, that player is James Bowie’s Cody Roberson.

Vyve Broadband Salutes DeKalb Running Back For Outstanding Play

Shawnee, OK (October 5, 2016) DeKalb senior running back Kentavius Williams was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Bears 35-31 come-from-behind win over Ore City Friday night.

Williams had touchdown runs of 2, 59 and 65-yards, the last one with 4:07 left in the game that was eventually the game winner. On the night he rushed for 344 yards on 34 carries and three TD’s against the Rebels.

The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.

For week five, that player is DeKalb’s Kentavius Williams.

Cardinals Gage Jones Named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week

Vyve Broadband Salutes Maud Quarterback For Outstanding Play

Shawnee, OK (September 27, 2016) — For the second consecutive week, Maud junior quarterback Gage Jones was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Cardinals 53-28 win over Linden-Kildare Friday night.
The Jones-led Cardinal offense churned out 515 yards as the Cardinals rolled over the Tigers. On the night, Jones rushed for 222 yards and six, count them six touchdowns, on just 19 carries, and added 67 yards on 5-of-9 passing.
The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.
For week four, that player is Maud’s Gage Jones.

Vyve Broadband Salutes Maud Quarterback For Outstanding Play

Maud junior quarterback Gage Jones was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Cardinals 33-6 win over Bowie Friday night.

Jones led the Cardinals to the win over their cross-county rival Pirates on 7-11 passing for 189 yards and three touchdowns on throws of 35 and 79 yards to Brooks Minter and another of 38 yards to RJ Bailey. He also picked up 38 yards rushing on four carries for a total offensive output of 227 yards.

The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.

For week three, that player is Maud’s Gage Jones.

Bears JaQuan Jackson Named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week

Vyve Broadband Salutes DeKalb WR/DB For Outstanding Play

Shawnee, OK (September 14, 2016) — DeKalb senior wideout/defensive back JaQuan Jackson was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Bears win over Maud on Friday night.

Jackson scored three fourth quarter touchdowns to rally the Bears to a 28-17 come-from-behind victory over the Cardinals.

On the night, Jackson had 168 yards on four receptions and scored on plays of 26, 60 and 62 yards to ignite the comeback celebration.

The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.

For week two, that player is DeKalb’s JaQuan Jackson.

Lions Evan Barron Named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week

Vyve Broadband Salutes New Boston Quarterback For Outstanding Play

New Boston sophomore quarterback Evan Barron was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the Lions win over De Kalb Friday night.
Barron replaced starting quarterback Philip Sissons and brought the Lions back from a 15-6 halftime deficit for a 4-point win over the Bears.
On the night, Barron was 2-7 passing for 34 yards and a touchdown, and added 29 yards rushing on 5 carries to lead the comeback victory.
The Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week is presented to the player who most exemplifies competition, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship for his high school team each Friday night.
For week one, that player is New Boston’s Evan Barron.

Community pep rally in DeKalb

The DeKalb Bear Booster Clubs would like to invite the public to tournout for a community pep rally this Friday night. Organizers say "Come support our Bears, Lady Bears, and cheerleaders. Two local girls make TGCA All-State lineups

Two local athletes have been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State teams. They are Redwater pitching ace Katy Worrell and Avery catcher Shelby Domingue.

Worrell had a standout year for the Lady Dragons, leading them deep into the state playoff brackets, including a 3-A Region 2 championship. She ended the season as the 15-3A Pitcher of the Year after a season that included 29 wins, 266 strikeouts and a batting average of .486. She will go on to play softball next season for Kilgore College.
