By Kenny Mitchell

Publisher

One of the biggest games down the stretch saw the Redwater Lady Dragons blank the Lady Bears of DeKalb Tuesday night 5-0, setting the Lady Dragons as the top team in the district at 9-2. The Hooks Lady Hornets played and won a non-district game last night, beating Columbia Christian from Magnolia, Arkansas 11-3.

This sets the stage for a game Friday night which most likely will determine the district championship as the Lady Hornets will travel to Redwater for a showdown of the two state ranked squads. The Texas Girls Coaches Association this week ranked the Lady Dragons at #9 and Hooks at #13 in the state polls. A win for Redwater on Friday would earn them a district championship.
